Luke trained as an actor at Arts University Bournemouth, where he received a BA (Hons) in Acting, before becoming an associate playwright with The Lighthouse Theatre in Poole. As a performer, he specialises in devised theatre and has collaborated with The Paper Birds theatre company as part of their schools’ workshop programme in the UK. As a playwright, his work explores the philosophical nature of human beings and how we interact with the world around us.
In 2021, Luke began his teaching journey, training at the University of Winchester and quickly established himself as a highly skilled and enthusiastic Drama teacher.
His passion for teaching is evident in his use of modern, research-informed pedagogy, which he thoughtfully adapts to suit the unique demands of drama as a subject. At the heart of his teaching philosophy are passion and authenticity, values that inspire his students to thrive both in and beyond the classroom. Luke believes drama and performance are powerful tools for exploring the world around us, helping students unlock their creative potential and develop confidence, empathy, and curiosity.
Outside the classroom, Luke is an avid reader of philosophy and philosophical fiction, a beginner golfer, and a proud supporter of Sunderland AFC in the North-East of England.
