Todd has 15 years of experience in education and has taught across both primary Key Stages in the UK, Malaysia, Thailand and China. Todd is passionate about tailoring his teaching to the needs of his students and has led curriculum development initiatives in his previous schools to respond to the needs of different cohorts of students. He thoroughly enjoys teaching all subjects but has a real soft-spot for Maths problem-solving.
Todd has a Masters degree in Education and Pedagogy and a National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership (NPQSL). He is one of only eight teachers in Asia to be awarded a FOBISIA Fellowship and presented the findings of his latest action research at the FOBISIA Leadership Conference.
Todd believes positive relationships and high expectations are paramount to student learning. His classroom is always a vibrant place where students feel safe, happy and eager to learn. Todd emphasises kindness as the key ingredient to success: ‘People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel’.
He is delighted to be moving to The British School of Guangzhou with his wife and two young children, Louis and Lyra. Outside of teaching, Todd enjoys running in new places and anything to do with Arsenal Football Club.
