Zacchaeus is excited to be re-joining The British School of Guangzhou and to once again call China home. After studying Music at the University of Liverpool, he gained his teaching qualification in England and has taught across a variety of year groups in primary schools. At his previous school, he led behaviour and personal development, helping to create a positive and supportive learning environment. His career has also previously taken him overseas, including several years in Bermuda, and he recently completed his NPQSL (the UK’s National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership).
Zacchaeus believes in creating a positive and inclusive classroom where every child feels valued, welcome and inspired to do their best. He enjoys helping pupils develop confidence in their learning and in themselves and sees strong relationships as the foundation for great teaching.
Outside of school, Zacchaeus has a lifelong love of sport and music. Alongside Mr Brawn, he is a founding member of Stratus, a piano trio now based between China and the UK, with performances ranging from concerts and weddings to an appearance in the BBC Christmas special Gavin & Stacey: The Finale, viewed by over 20 million people. He also enjoys exploring new places, finding the best coffee spots, capturing moments through photography and making the most of everything Guangzhou has to offer.
